Here we go...
This is where I will do my best to keep the amazing support group informed on what is happening and going on with Doug and the family. This is my journal to help me remember what we were going through when I look back on this in years to come, so I will be writing about not only doctor stuff, but daily things we are going through as a family.
You all need to know up front, I am going to write exactly what is on my heart. There will be serious times and I will write about the stupid and funny things we are going to experience. See laughter is good for your soul!
I am blown away by the love and support we have been receiving. I knew we had great people in our lives, but wow you guys are out doing yourselves on this one!
It warms my heart to hear all the amazing stories from people who my husband has touched. Last night he got a text message from a sweet young lady, this is what it said:
Hey Coach, was just thinking about you today and I wanted to let you know that the team is supporting you and that we will always have your back. I hope you get to feeling better. You've been my coach for several years and it worries me to see you in pain. Thanks for everything you have taught me as a coach and as a person.
Just warms my heart. See I have always known how amazing he is with these girls.
I want you all to know, I may not respond to your text messages, emails, or posts. But I read every single one! I also have been sharing them with Doug, he is completely beside himself.
This weekend was filled with some great times. Z our oldest daughter was in town for a softball tournament at BSU. This momma was so excited it had been 2 months since I had been able to hug on that girl! She plays for Weber State University and had 5 games up here. It was a bit emotional for Doug. We got to the first game and when he saw Z and Sara in uniform on the field he got all choked up. I asked him if he was ok and his response was, "yes, I am just so proud of those 2. They have worked their butts off to be where they are at!" It was a fun weekend of softball and time with all 3 of my girls. Today's game against BSU was cancelled due to rain, I think BSU was scared Weber State was going to beat up on them! Z left for Ogden and will be headed to San Diego on Wednesday for another tournament. The girl is crazy busy.
We attended some State Basketball games, nothing better than being in the gym for this girl! It kept us busy, from the softball field to the gym to exhausted and ready for bed.
So here we go.... on a brand new journey, a road we have not traveled yet. Thank you all for traveling with us!
